First announced in 1985, the Yamaha VMAX is regarded as being one of the fastest motorcycles available on the market. This specific bike is not for newcomers but for the more experienced motorcyclists who enjoy fast exciting rides. It is a more substantial bike, that has continued to be a leading seller, and its name VMAX is synonymous with speed.

The power can certainly achieve 800 RMP using the V-Boost, which is its top feature. The 4 pots are fed through four downshaft carburetors, that are each separated by butterfly valves. Other hot rod bikes do not come anywhere approaching the same horsepower as the V-Boost. Additionally, the V-Boost delivers smooth acceleration very quickly. The very first VMAX, that was solely announced in the United States, sported a V4 1200 CC engine, and had 145 HP and V-Boost. The year 1986 witnessed the European introduction of a 104 HP style by Yamaha. The V-Boost function was not supplied on these European bikes. In 1990 the design was modified slightly by adding digital electronic ignition, and also that year, this motorcycle was first brought to Japan.
