The Right Fit for Biker Clothing

If you haven't shopped for motorcycle-specific clothing recently, you will most likely be surprised at the technology and sophistication of modern riding gear out today. Motorcycle clothing has become very high-tech and comfortable as well. When shopping for appropriate motorcycle gear, keep in mind comfort and safety first and foremost.
When considering what fabric to wear, leather comes immediately to mind, but don't forget that textiles provide its advantages as well. We know that leather offers its benefits by providing better abrasion protection and is breathable. However textile garments are going to better to provide weatherproofing and will do better in cold temperatures. Textile is, of course, less expense than leather clothing.
More important than the material of the garment you choose, it's the fit that matters most. You need your biker clothing to fit snug for protection and comfort. It also must fit the riding position as well. If your jacket is too long, when you lean over it can push the shoulders up too much. If your jacket is too short it will expose your back and be uncomfortable as well. That's why most sport jackets are cut shorter in the front, than the back. It might not feel right when walking around, but makes sense when you sit on your bike and in your riding position.
